High Contrast Shore Line Abstracts - Photography Week 16 (2016)

As the sun drops in the sky towards the end of the day, there is a line of light that dances across the sea to the shore line - it sort of follows you about like Kitchener's pointed finger.

Right up the last moments it is too bright to capture effectively with a camera and the contrast is almost unbearable to look at - or so it seemed.

Idling about at Dollar Cove and looking for photographic inspiration, I decided to push the camera settings into the committed tripod user's uncharted territory -1/4000th at f14.

The RAW results screamed with an odd reddish, or perhaps magenta, colour that drove me to a mono finish. Once there, the creativity took over and one trial conversion turned into a small panel:
