Best of the Rest - Photography Week 18 (2016)

These are a selection of other photographs taken during photography week 18 (2nd to 8th May 2016):

Godrevy

I had a composition in mind at Godrevy that didn't materialise due to the indifferent conditions. Whilst waiting, I captured a brief slice of light over Mutton Cove and some thrift in the hedges:

HM Coastguard circled and landed whilst I was there:

In fading light I captured these wave compositions:

Gunnera Leaves

During the winter I captured the leathery wilted leaves of the Gunnera plant (giant Rhubarb) (1). Now as we head towards summer they have reinvigorated themselves:

Porthcurno & Minack Theatre

On a grey afternoon we stopped at the wonderful Minack Theatre overlooking Porthcurno. Pity about the weather but there was plenty of cheery colour in the gardens.

Later on Porthcurno beach, ignoring the greyness, I captured a few handheld shots of the incoming waves (some with intentional camera movement):

Falmouth

On the sea wall in Falmouth is a painted sunset tribute to someone (it has a RIP message in the middle but as I have no idea about the person I will not repeat it here). It is a bit weathered but the colours are superb:

A little further along is this piece of street art:

Both pieces of street art are on a concrete jetty which appears to have something to do with drainage. This is one of the rusting covers:

Back to more natural subjects: two seaweed compositions and some rocks studies:

Trelissick Gardens

The visit to Trelissick was a pleasant way to finish the week despite the continued dull weather conditions:
