Nottingham Contemporary - Photography Week 31 (2016)

Whilst in the Nottingham Contemporary looking at the Pump House (see my previous post), I took these images of the stairs to the ground floor. To get a decent shutter speed in the dark stairwell I needed a high ISO setting. This gave the final images a grainy texture, which is sometimes unwanted, but on this occasion added to the overall finish:









The galleries in the Nottingham Contemporary are lit by defused skylights and some fluorescent light bulbs. These create some interesting lines and tonal shades which I have tried to capture in this series of abstract images:
