Strawberry Hill - Part 1 (February 2018)

Strawberry Hill Heath is a nature reserve and site of special scientific interest (SSSI) managed by the Wildlife Trust. It is one of the few remaining heathland areas in the Sherwood Forest area and it is a location that I return to regularly. There always seems to be something to photograph.

On this ocassion, it was the changing light on the pond near to the boundary of Strawberry Hill. The sun was released from the clouds for a few moments bathing the trees in a golden light:.







The brilliance of the sunlight contrasted with the flat conditions only a few moments earlier:





Close to the pond were winter puddles, some stretching the width of the path. Dried leaves, mainly oak, had blown onto the water and seemingly gripped by the surface tension:
